P&O Cruises has announced that its flagship Britannia will be based in Southampton for the first time during the winter season of 2027–2028.
The large vessel, which marked its 10th anniversary this year, will operate roundtrips across Europe and the Caribbean from October 2027 through March 2028.
The deployment forms part of P&O's winter 2027 and spring 2028 program, which introduces a range of itineraries across the fleet. This marks the first full winter season Britannia has spent in Southampton since entering service in 2015.
The ship’s schedule will include two-week voyages to mainland Spain, Madeira, and the Canary Islands, as well as shorter five-night cruises to Belgium and the Netherlands. Week-long itineraries will visit France and Germany, while longer seasonal options include a 14-night Christmas voyage to the Canary Islands departing 21 December 2027 and a 35-night Caribbean sailing departing January 4th, 2028.
Aboard Britannia, guests will find a range of facilities including four swimming pools, a 936-seat theatre offering large-scale stage productions, and the Limelight Lounge featuring live entertainment. The ship’s culinary venues include The Glass House and The Cookery Club, both established favourites among P&O guests.
Other vessels in the fleet will also see expanded itineraries for the season. Ventura is scheduled to operate a new seven-night Scandinavia cruise including calls in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Kristiansand, following New Year’s Eve celebrations in Southampton.
Aurora will return to South America for a 75-night Grand Tour visiting Brazil and Chile, while Arcadia will undertake a 124-night World Cruise in 2028, featuring ports of call across East Asia, including Nagasaki and Tokyo.
