AmaWaterways has officially introduced its second luxury riverboat in Colombia, the AmaMelodia, marking another step in the company’s strategic expansion along the Magdalena River.

The launch underscores Ama’s continued investment in the region and its commitment to advancing sustainable tourism while supporting local economies.

Following the successful debut of AmaMagdalena earlier in the year, AmaWaterways’ leadership described the introduction of AmaMelodia as a result of close collaboration with Colombian partners. The initiative aims to strengthen the river’s emerging cruise infrastructure and foster long-term benefits for communities along its banks.

The 64-passenger AmaMelodia offers an intimate travel experience with an emphasis on panoramic views of Colombia’s tropical landscapes. The 7-day itineraries are between homeports Barranquilla and Cartagena.

Shipboard amenities include regional and international cuisine prepared with locally sourced ingredients, live musical performances in the main lounge, and a whirlpool-equipped sun deck for guests seeking relaxation amid the jungle surroundings.

The ship’s interiors feature handcrafted décor by Colombian artisans, reflecting the nation’s cultural heritage and artistry. This focus on authentic design and locally sourced materials reinforces AmaWaterways’ philosophy of integrating cultural appreciation with sustainable operations.

The company’s leadership emphasized that AmaMelodia represents more than a vessel launch; it signifies the culmination of years of collaboration with local partners and the ongoing effort to establish the Magdalena River as a distinctive luxury cruising destination.
