The cruise vessel Carnival Conquest has re-entered service at PortMiami following a 12-day dry dock period at Grand Bahama Shipyard, where she underwent a series of structural and interior modifications before resuming her year-round programme of short cruises to The Bahamas and Caribbean destinations. The interval in the yard enabled the installation and enhancement of a number of onboard facilities that affect both passenger amenities and the vessel’s operational offering.
Among the notable additions was the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, established as a dedicated space to honour military veterans and active-duty service members. This venue has been configured so that a portion of proceeds from the sale of a commemorative glass and a branded pale ale are directed to Operation Homefront, a U.S.-based organisation supporting military families.
Modifications made during the ship’s time in dry dock also included enlargement and redesign of the onboard casino, where the gaming floor was rearranged to accommodate a broader variety of games and to create a designated non-smoking section. At the same time, facilities aimed at younger passengers were updated: the teen social area known as Club O2 was fitted with additional gaming zones and refreshed décor, and the WAREHOUSE video arcade space was reimagined to support a more interactive range of play experiences.
Retail venues aboard the vessel received renewed attention as well. Shops carrying brands such as Effy, Pandora and Swarovski were refurbished to present a more contemporary environment for browsing and purchasing.
With these enhancements complete, Carnival Conquest has returned to her homeport and continues to operate short 3- and 4-night cruises from Miami. Her itineraries include calls at Carnival’s private island destination, Celebration Key, as part of the wider Caribbean programme.
