8 River Cruise Passengers Suffer Smoke Inhalation Due to Fire

According to Austrian emergency crews, a fire has broken out on the Arosa Riva ship cruising on Danube River, forcing the evacuation of around 200 people. 8 people have been treated for smoke inhalation.

The blaze has broken out on Monday, July 24, west of Vienna in the sauna area onboard the Arosa Cruises vessel. 5 crews and other emergency response teams have evacuated all the 150 passengers and 39 crew to another riverboat that had dropped anchor nearby.

Two club helicopters have flown the 2 most seriously injured travellers to hospitals. All the injured are crew members who had tried to put out the flames.
