Limassol Port Kicks Off Spring Cruise Season 2019

The 2019 spring cruise season officially opened with 4 cruise liners arriving at DP World Limassol.

On April 4, RMS Queen Mary 2, one of world's largest cruise vessels, and Costa Victoria arrived. On April 1, Viking Jupiter made her maiden call and MSC Lirica along with AIDAblu berthed at DP World Limassol on March 29 and 27 respectively.

Over 7,000 passengers arrived in Port Limassol where the cruise liners berthed for 1-day transit calls. Travelers had the opportunity to visit the port city while others chose to go on trips in the surrounding areas.

In 2019, a total of 93 cruise ships are scheduled to visit DP World Limassol, marking an increase compared to 2018. Last year, a total of 68 arrivals at Limassol port were recorded, of which 36 were transit and 32 were home port calls. In 2019, the port expects an overall increase of around 40% with 93 arrivals, of which 53 are due to be transit, and 40 home port calls.

The upward trend is expected to continue into next year.
