On November 30, 2019, AIDA 14th fleet member will be officially named by the 1974-born German fashion model and actress Franziska Knuppe. The liner AIDAmira (ex Costa neoRiviera) will be christened in Port Palma (Mallorca Island, Balearic Spain).
Fun fact is that the Rostock-born celebrity in 2009 served as the godmother of the fleetmate AIDAluna. Mira ship's Captain (Master) will be Manuel Pannzek - Captain on AIDA Selection ships since 2017.
The christening of AIDAmira (4th AIDA Selection vessel) will be a charity event with all proceeds to be donated to "AIDA Cruise & Help" - a partnership with Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP (since 2018) for collecting donations in order to build schools in newly industrializing and developing countries.
During ship's inaugural season for AIDA Cruises, Mira is deployed in South Africa and homeported in Cape Town for 14-day roundtrips.
