Carnival Breeze cruise ship crew commits suicide during final voyage

A male crew on CCL-Carnival Cruise Line's ship Carnival Breeze committed suicide on Saturday, May 9, during his final sailing (repatriation voyage) from the USA to Europe. The 29-year-old man (Hungarian) was found dead in his cabin. His Sail & Sign card (also used for stateroom access) was last used on May 6.

For 3 years (2017-2019) he had been working for CCL as a shore trip assistant manager on the Carnival ships Inspiration, Miracle and Breeze.

Carnival Breeze and Carnival Magic are currently repatriation voyages from the Caribbean to Europe, to return all the CCL's European crew back to their home countries. The two cruise liners are on Transatlantic crossings - Breeze from Port Canaveral Florida, and Magic from Freeport Bahamas.
