Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady becomes the largest cruise ship ever to dock in Portsmouth, England UK

A new record was set in Portsmouth Harbour (England UK) as Virgin VoyagesMS Scarlet Lady became the largest ever cruise ship to dock in the International Port.

The 227-m, 110,000 GT-ton liner passed through the Solent Monday morning, June 22.

Scarlet Lady (2020-built/2021-inaugurated) is the first of a number of ships to be brought into operation by Sir Richard Branson's cruise line and is scheduled to debut later than planned following the halt on cruise travel caused by the COVID crisis.

3000 passengers are expected to set sail on each of the six scheduled "Summer Soiree" voyages around the United Kingdom, all of which are due to depart from Portsmouth England.

For Brits, currently, just domestic cruises in England are allowed to restart. Some travelers have already been able to enjoy sailings. The Foreign Office is still advising against all other cruise ship travel.
