Evry-Courcouronnes is a Seine River cruise port and a town near Paris (the capital city's southern suburbs) in the le-de-France region (Essonne department), with population around 70,000. The town was established in 2019 via the merger of Evry and Courcouronnes.

Tourists can enjoy Parc-du-Lac Courcouronnes - a large nature park with a small lake, a scenic walking trail, and the climbing wall Dame du Lac (1975-constructed by Pierre Szekely, currently non-operational). The town is famous for the Genopole academy (comprising of 17 research laboratories and housing 87 biotechnology companies) specializing in genetics and genomics, xenobiology (novel biological systems and biochemistries), as well as in biotherapies.
Higher education is represented by the Faculte des Metiers (faculty of trades), Institut Mines-Telecom Business School, ENSIIE (National School of Higher Computing for Industry and Enterprise), Telecom SudParis/TSP (leading engineering school in digital science and technology) and Evry-Val-d'Essonne University.
Evry-Courcouronnes is crossed by several major transportation axes, including A6 Highway (autoroute du Soleil, linking Paris and Lyon) and National Road 7 (RN 7, linking Paris to Menton). The local vehicle traffic is served by Department Road 446 (Essonne route) and several road exchangers (Francilienne N104 motorways).
Evry-Courcouronnes has three train stations serving two railway lines - Gare Evry-Val-de-Seine and Gare Grand Bourg (serving the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges to Montargis line) and Gare Orangis-Bois de l'Epine (serving the Grigny to Corbeil-Essonnes line).
In 2020 was launched a major development project for downtown's renovation. The 20-year project includes demolition works as well as several infrastructure redevelopments, including the commissioning of T12 Express (tramway linking to Gare Massy-Palaiseau) and all-electric bus lines.
