A road links Falmouth Harbour with the nearby city Liberta (Antigua's 4th-largest town - after Saint John's, All Saints, and Piggotts). Among the most-popular cruise shore excursion offers is Monks Hill on which is one of the 40 forts built by the British during Antigua's occupation in the 19th century. This Fort was created as a refuge in case the French attack Falmouth Harbour. While a French warship was passing en-route to Guadaloupe, the British evacuated the entire town fearing a possible attack.
A well-known local attraction is Sweet T's Ice Cream Parlour (within walking distance from The Catamaran Hotel Antigua). At various times during the year, special events are enjoyed by villagers and tourists, such as Sweet T's fishing tournament, and yearly anniversary party. A must-try are the chicken salad and "Back Builder" milkshake.

A similar deal GPH signed with Cuba (for Port Havana) in 2018. Part of the deal was that GPH will invest in improving Port St Johns' current retail shops and construct new retail and food-beverage facilities. GPH also handles all cruise vessels anchoring close to Falmouth Harbour.
