Isle of Coll is located west of Mull Island in Scotland's Inner Hebrides (Bute and Argyll). It is a popular holiday travel destination featuring sandy beaches (forming huge dunes), the Breacachadh Castle and corncrakes. Coll island has a total area of approx 30 mi2 (77 km2) and population around 200.

During the late 18th century, here lived around 1,000 people supported by sea fishing and agriculture. During the 1830s-1840s clearances, half of the population left the island and went to Canada, Australia and South Africa.

The main (largest) settlement on the island is Arinagour. At approx 1 ml (1,5 km) to the south is located the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. The ferry service to Isle of Call is roundtrip from Oban (to Coll and Isle of Tiree), with return itinerary Isle of Tiree - Isle of Coll - Oban.

Call island is also served by the Ro-Ro ferry ship Clansman operating dedicated and regularly scheduled car and passenger ferry services to the Inner Hebrides Islands Barra, Coll, Colonsay and Tiree. Departures are roundtrip from Oban (resort town in Argyll and Bute, mainland Scotland).
