Koh Wua Ta Lap Island Thailand

Koh Wua Ta Lap Island (aka Ko Wua Talap) is part of Thailand's Mu Koh Angthong Marine Park (in the Gulf of Thailand) and belongs to Surat Thani Province. The national park is sized approx 102 km2 (40 mi2) and groups 42 islands with total land area approx 50 km2 (19 mi2).

On Wua Talap are the park's main tourist facilities including ranger station, shop, restaurant, camping sites (with bungalows).

Ang Thong NP's largest islands are Koh Phaluai (19,1 km2), Koh Wua Talap (6,1 km2), Koh Nok Taphao (3,3 km2), Koh Chueak (1,6 km2), Koh Samsao (0,9 km2), Koh Wua Chio (0,3 km2) and Koh Raet (0,1 km2). Wua Ta Lap is visited mainly via day-boat tours from Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao.

The best time to visit the island is February-March-April. In November-December Ang Thong remains closed due to seasonal raining (monsoon). Wua Ta Lap's largest beach is Ao Phi. Popular activities are hiking, snorkelling and scuba diving, kayaking and boating, nature walks. Tourist attractions include climbing to Pha Jun Jaras (scenic viewpoint), Cave Bua Boke (1-km long trail), wildlife watching (monkeys), overnight camping (the island has 5 bungalows plus tents for rent, with common showers and toilets).
