  Port Map

Koh Rong Island (aka Kaoh Rung) is Cambodia's second-largest island (after Koh Kong) located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island is part of the Koh Kong Province, and approx 25 km (16 mi) off the mainland (Sihanoukville).

Koh Rong has land area approx 78 km2 (30 mi2), coastline 61 km (38 mi), length 15 km (9 9mi), max width 9 km (6 mi), 4 villages (Koh Tuich, Prek Svay, Daem Thkov, Sok San) and population around 1,200. Approx 43 km (27 mi) of the coastline are beaches. The largest (main village) is Koh Tuich (Kaoh Touch, south coast) - also the island's "cruise port" (ferry port) and main entry point for passenger ferries and tour boats. Ferries also stop at Sok San (southwest coast) and Prek Svay (northeast coast).

Rong Island is predominantly hilly (highest elevation point 316 m / 1037 ft), with scenery marked by numerous creeks and estuaries, forested interior (non-populated, with lush jungles with several seasonal waterfalls), crescent-shaped beaches (white-sand and pink-sand), scenic inlets and bays, rock formations, abundant marine life. In close proximity to Koh Rong are located 6 small isles (Tuich, Bong, Song, Koun, Rong Sanloem).

Since 2000, Koh Rong is developed and managed under a 99-year government-issued lease (land concession to the consortium The Royal Group of Cambodia, based in Phnom Penh). Island's current-day economy is based on tourism (mainly at Koh Tuich Village), commercial fishing and agriculture. The tourism industry is represented by waterfront holiday resorts, hotels, bungalow camping sites, guesthouses, restaurants and bars.

Next table shows an itinerary introduced in 2020 by the luxury cruise line Star Clippers on the tall-sailing ship Star Clipper.
