San Remo (Sanremo) is a Mediterranean port city located on Liguria's coast (northwestern Italy). The city covers a total area of approx 55 km2 (21 ml2) and has population around 60,000.
- Established in Roman times, Sanremo hosts annually numerous cultural events, the most popular of which are Music Festival and Milan–San Remo race (cycling). Ariston Theatre organizes annually series of operas, classic music concerts and theatre plays. City's Symphony Orchestra is among Italy's 12 officially recognized and performs around 120 concerts per year. Most concerts are held in Municipal Casino's Opera Theatre.
- City's coastline is on Italian Riviera - among country's popular vacation travel destinations. The city is also popular for extra virgin olive oil production. Flowers are another important part of local economy. The nearby towns Bordighera, Ospedaletti and Arma di Taggia are heavily involved in cultivation of flowers for Sanremo.
