Sisak is a Sava RIver (Danube River) cruise port and town in Croatia, with population around 40,000. The town is located at the confluence of three rivers (Kupa, Odra, Sava), and approx 57 km (35 ml) southeast of country's capital Zagreb (on Sava River).
Sisak is the biggest river port in Croatia and a centre of country's river shipping industry. The town is on the road Zagreb-Petrinja and on the railroad Zagreb-Sunja. Croatia's largest oil refinery is in Sisak.
Among the most popular places in Sisak are sports and recreation facilities and the beach on Kupa River. Sisak is the starting point for sightseeing tours to Lonjsko Polje Nature Park - Croatia's largest protected wetland (designated in 1993), featuring indigenous breeds of horses and pigs, white storks. The park is operated with weekend programs that include guided walk and sightseeing of Cigoc village, ethnological collection, solar-powered boat tour on Sava River, tractor carriage ride in Krapje, bird watching in Krapje Đol (Ornithological Reserve), walk through Lonjsko and Repusnicko fields.
