Stadt Wehlen is an Elbe River cruise port and town in Germany's Saxony state (Sachsische Schweiz / Saxon Switzerland) with a population of around 2,000. The town is on the railway linking Dresden with Prague (Czech Republic's capital city) and in the midst of Elbe Sandstone Mountains - on both sides of Elbe River straddling the border between Saxony (southeastern Germany) and Bohemia (northern Czechia).
The town is located on both banks of the river and limited (to north and east) by Nationalpark Sachsische Schweiz. Nearest larger towns are Pirna (~12 km/8 mi) and Dresden (~30 km/20 mi). As cruise port, Wehlen was included in the 2019 schedule of one of Europe's largest river cruise companies - CroisiEurope.
