Thayetmyo is an Irrawaddy River cruise port and city in Thayet District (Magway Region, central Myanmar / Burma). The city has population around 110,000 and is located across and south of Allanmyo, and between Magway and Pyay (Prome).

Limestone quarries are located a few miles south of the town. They were developed in the 1960s to supply the local cement factory.
