Pinhao is a small village situated in a bend of River Douro. It is a nice place to spend some time. One of its attractions is the giant river bridge that cruisers have to cross to get into the village. Built in 1906, the bridge measures some 68 metres. Pinhao's 2nd sight is its railway station, full of azulejos. No matter which town or village you visit in Portugal, you'll come across the so-called azulejos, that actually are painted tiles with a nice pattern or display pictures. In Pinhao, all of them show scenes from the countryside or the work people used to do there (harvest scenes).
