Review of MS Douro Queen
MS Douro Queen is a luxury river cruise ship (same design as Douro Cruiser) with capacity up to 126 guests. Douro River itineraies are with roundtrip Oporto departures and visit ports in both Portugal and Spain. The riverboat is owned by the Portugese travel company Douro Azul and often chartered by the UK travel company Saga Holidays.
The ship features a top-deck swimming pool with 2 Jacuzzies and a spacious, partially shaded sun deck with plenty of deck chairs and sunloungers. On the lower decks are located the restaurant and the panorama lounge & bar. The restaurant offers international and traditional Portugese cuisine specialties. Meals are served in one leisurely sitting. Passengers can enjoy tasteful buffet-style breakfasts and lunches, as well as sumptuous 4-course waiter-served dinners. During the cruise there is also local entertainment onboard as local groups from the region through which the itinerary passes, board the ship for live dance and singing performances.
Douro Queen has all 65 cabins. All staterooms are outside facing. Upper Deck cabins are with private step-out balconies. Main Deck cabins are with large picture windows. All accommodations provide en-suite bathrooms (WC-shower), double or twin beds, as well as a safe, satellite television, hairdryer.
