MS Florentina

The MS Florentina cruise ship was built in 1980 in Wiesbaden, Germany. The riverboat is currently owned by the Swiss company Reiseburo Mittelthurgau AG (based in Weinfelden, Switzerland) and operated under charter by the Stuttgart-based cruise tour company Nicko Tours. MS Florentina operates on the Vltava and Elbe rivers, offering roundtrip itineraries from her homeport in Prague.

Cabins

MS Florentina has a total of 47 cabins accommodating up to 88 passengers. All cabins are outside, equal in size (10 m² / 110 ft²), and equipped with two separate lower beds (non-convertible to double), wardrobe, mirrored dressing table (writing desk) with chair, en-suite bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin), hairdryer, flat-screen TV (satellite reception), electronic safe (in the closet), telephone (intercom/onboard only), and individually controlled ventilation (central heating and air conditioning).

All Main Deck cabins have small non-opening windows located near the ceiling. All Upper Deck cabins are French Balcony staterooms with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a railing (false balcony). Four Single cabins are located midship on the Upper Deck around the staircase. These are single-bed rooms (8 m² / 90 ft²) with French Balconies featuring sliding glass doors opening to a railing.

Shipboard Amenities

All public areas on MS Florentina are located on the Upper Deck. The aft Panorama Restaurant offers large windows, open seating, and single-seating capacity. The dining menu features traditional Czech cuisine as well as international dishes, all prepared by a Czech chef using locally sourced fresh ingredients.

The midship Lobby area includes a Reception Desk (24-hour guest services), Tour Office (Cruise Director, excursion information and booking), small Library Lounge (with comfortable seating, books, and popular board games), and a Gift Shop (souvenirs). Three staircases connect all decks.

The Sun Deck features a retractable awning adjacent to the Wheelhouse, providing a shaded seating area with four-seat tables and chairs, full bar service, and a sunbathing area with loungers and deckchairs. The Sun Deck is also the ship’s only designated smoking area.

The forward Panorama Bar Lounge on the Upper Deck features floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable seating (low tables with armchairs), and its own bar. Onboard entertainment includes cooking demonstrations, quiz games, bingo, crew shows, themed dance nights, enrichment lectures, and multimedia presentations related to the itinerary’s destinations, ports, and excursions. The ship does not have a wellness complex (Fitness Center, Spa, or Hair Salon), deck games area, swimming pool, or Jacuzzi/whirlpool.

River Cruise Itineraries

The MS Florentina is chartered by one of Europe’s largest river cruise companies — Nicko Cruises, a Mystic Cruises-owned brand and subsidiary. The following table shows the ship’s 9-day Elbe River cruise itinerary with port sequences and scheduled times (arrival/departure). The roundtrip from homeport Prague visits only Czech ports, with fares starting from approximately USD 1,400 per person (double occupancy).

The cruise company offers optional shore excursions (not included in cruise fares) at each visited port. Land programs include sightseeing tours, city walks, cycling trips, and bus excursions to nearby attractions. Complimentary audio headsets are provided for all guided tours.

MS Florentina cruise fares include all onboard meals (buffet breakfast, waiter-served lunch and dinner, afternoon coffee and cake, midnight snacks), Welcome Cocktail Party, Welcome Dinner, Gala Dinner, onboard entertainment, ship tour, and port taxes. Cruise fares do not include flights, transfers, excursions, insurance, gratuities, beverages, or personal expenses.
