MS Douro Prince Review
Review of MS Douro Prince
The 2002-built MS Douro Prince cruise ship has a passenger capacity of 48 guests, plus 16 crew and staff. The vessel operates Douro River itineraries from her homeport Oporto (roundtrip departures), visiting ports in Portugal and Spain, including Vega de Terron–Salamanca.
The riverboat is owned by Mystic Cruises and operated by its Portuguese subsidiary Douro Azul.
The ship is exclusively chartered by Nicko Cruises, Mystic’s German brand and fully owned subsidiary company.

The vessel is Portugal-flagged (MMSI number TBA) and registered in Lisbon. She was built by WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
Onboard facilities include a bar lounge, an elegant single-seating restaurant, a gift shop, and a cozy Sun Deck. The vessel has 24 staterooms in total, including one Suite and 23 standard cabins. All accommodations are outside, tastefully furnished, and feature en-suite bathrooms, HDTVs, and individually controlled air-conditioning.
Main Deck cabins measure 11 m2 (120 ft2) and feature floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto private step-out balconies.
Upper Deck cabins are slightly larger—12 m2 (130 ft2)—and have large picture windows, except for rooms 214 and 219, which are smaller (9 m2 / 95 ft2).
The Suite measures 21 m2 (225 ft2) and is the only cabin with a bathtub, while all other cabins feature a WC and shower.

Standard cabins are furnished with twin beds that can be configured separately or together as a double. The Suite features a fixed double bed that cannot be converted. Complimentary bottled water is provided in all cabins, at the bar, and during all shore excursions.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the bright, airy restaurant located on the Main Deck. The dining room accommodates all guests in a single open seating, with most tables seating six. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, while dinner is a waiter-served, multi-course meal featuring a mix of international and traditional Portuguese cuisine.
