Carnival Ecstasy cabins review
The Carnival cruise ship Ecstasy offers a total of 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins for guests with disabilities. There are no Spa cabins (with exclusive access to Spa Carnival facilities). The ship features 26 different cabin categories.
Connecting rooms ("family cabins") are available in the following categories: 2 beds (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 6E, 8B, 8C), 2–3 beds (6B, 6C, 6D), and 3–4 beds (GS). The 25 accessible staterooms include: Grand Suite (1), Balcony (2), Oceanview (10), and Interior (12).
Below is a review of Carnival Ecstasy staterooms, highlighting their amenities, furnishings, and complimentary services:
Carnival Ecstasy Suites (Ecstasy, Grand, Junior) include a Queen-size bed, a double sofabed (ES), or a single sofabed (GS, JS), a living area (walk-in closet, drawers, vanity table, chair), a private bathroom (toilet, shower, whirlpool bathtub, double sinks), and a private balcony with a table and patio chairs. Category OB – Junior Suites have an obstructed view.
Balcony cabins feature two twin beds (convertible to queen), a bathroom with a shower, and a living area with vanity and seating. Some Balcony staterooms also offer upper bunk beds (Pullman beds) for a third or fourth guest. Category 8M cabins are Extended Balcony staterooms with larger balconies.
Oceanview cabins include a large picture window, twin beds (convertible to queen), a bathroom with a shower, and a living area. Some also feature Pullman beds for additional guests.
Interior cabins with windows (category PT) have one porthole window, two twin beds (convertible to a queen-sized bed), ample closet and storage space, a private bathroom with a shower, and a living area with vanity and seating. Small Inside cabins include bunk beds (upper/lower Pullman), a living area (vanity, chair), and a bathroom with a shower.
All Carnival Ecstasy staterooms include the following standard and complimentary amenities: living area (vanity, seating), smart HDTV (infotainment system with Internet, on-demand movies, reservations, room service), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, single sink vanity, bathrobes, amenity basket replenished upon request), Carnival Comfort Bed System, beach towels, mini-bar/fridge, individual air-conditioning, and 24-hour complimentary room service. Bibles (Gideon version) are available upon request.
The Carnival Sail & Sign card (cashless onboard credit account) also serves as the stateroom key. This card enables passengers to charge purchases and gratuities to their account throughout the cruise. Each card is assigned to a specific passenger and must be used for all monetary transactions, with cash accepted only in the casino. Cards are distributed to all guests (including minors) upon boarding. Account balances can be checked at the Guest Services desk or via the in-room smart TV.
Depending on satellite reception and the ship’s location, complimentary in-cabin TV programming includes: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNN (Domestic, International, Español), TCM (classic movies), Boomerang and Cartoon Network, TNT, and TBS. Two movie channels are available, showing films every three hours: one for all-time favorites (PG-13 rated) and another for family favorites (G/PG-rated). Carnival-themed channels include Fun Finds TV, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live webcam views, Audible Funtimes, Photo, and Music. Sporting events (ESPN, ESPN2) are available only at the Sports Bar and Seaside Theatre. All TV connection ports are disabled, preventing connection to personal devices.
Bathroom amenities vary by cruise, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Complimentary samples may include toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razors, and antacids. Showers are equipped with wall-mounted dispensers for liquid soap and shampoo. Power outlets are located in the desk/vanity area: one 110V (US standard) and one 220V (European standard). The bathroom’s 2-pin plug is for electric razors only.
Carnival's beds are manufactured in Europe exclusively for the line. They feature trademarked “New Generation Pillows” (100% cotton), a hypoallergenic satin-striped duvet, a cover, deluxe sheets (high-quality cotton), and an 8-inch (20 cm) spring mattress (Carnival Comfort). Non-allergenic alternatives are available, including polyester blankets, 60/40 cotton-polyester sheets and pillowcases, and New Generation Pillows. Note: Trundle beds do not use Carnival Comfort mattresses.
Carnival-logoed beach towels are provided in each stateroom and can be taken ashore. They are also available for purchase ($22). Bathrobes (two) are standard in all suites. For other staterooms, bathrobes are available upon request during the first evening turndown service and may also be purchased ($49 for adults, $24 for children ages 2–4 and 6–8).
Lifejackets are for emergency use only and are not intended for pool use. They are stored in each stateroom closet and are available in adult, child, and infant sizes. Safes are also located in stateroom closets, with approximate dimensions of 10 x 9 x 8 inches (25 x 23 x 20 cm). Safes use a key, provided by the Room Steward. Lost or unreturned keys incur a $40 fee, charged to the S&S account. Ship security can also open the safes if necessary.
All mini-bars in staterooms and suites are stocked with premium liquors ($6–$9.25), beer ($6.25), energy drinks ($5), soft drinks ($2), and bottled water ($3.75). In-cabin babysitting is not available. Cribs are provided complimentary upon request. High chairs and booster seats are available in Main Dining Rooms.
Smoking in cabins and on balconies is prohibited. Designated smoking areas include Stripes Nightclub (excluding the dance floor), designated areas in the Casino and Casino Bar, and an outdoor area on Deck 11 starboard (midship) for smoking (including cigars and pipes).
Funville@Sea is a complimentary intranet service that provides onboard activity schedules, bar and restaurant menus, deck maps, the Fun Times newspaper, tour guides (FunAshore), cruise news, itinerary-related weather reports, and an onboard social network for passenger messaging. This service is accessible via the in-room infotainment system and FunHub stations throughout the ship.
As of the latest update, daily gratuities are USD 12.95 per guest for standard cabins and USD 13.95 for suite guests. Suite passengers enjoy additional perks, including priority embarkation/debarkation and tendering, priority Main Dining Room reservations, complimentary bottled water, one complimentary bag of laundry per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.
Since 2017, Carnival allows guests to customize cabin steward service—choosing morning, evening, or both. Guests may also request additional amenities such as bathrobes, extra pillows, blankets, and hangers, and specify how often linens should be changed. Preferences can be selected from a service menu card placed in each stateroom. By default, cabins are serviced twice daily if no selections are made.
Furniture details for all staterooms can be viewed in the Carnival Ecstasy cabin plans provided above.
