Carnival Paradise cabins review

The Carnival cruise ship Paradise has a total of 32 wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) and no Spa cabins (with exclusive access to Spa Carnival facilities). The ship offers 25 different cabin categories.

Connecting rooms ("family cabins") are available in the following categories: 2 beds (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 6E, 8B, 8C) and 2-3 beds (6B, 6C, 6D). The 32 accessible staterooms are distributed among the following categories: GS-Grand Suite (4), JT-JS-Junior Suite (2), Balcony (4), Oceanview (10), and Interior (12).

During Carnival Paradise's 2018 drydock refurbishment, 38 new cabins were added, including 2 Grand Vista Suites (GV), 22 Junior Suites, 2 Scenic Oceanview cabins (6J), and 12 Interior cabins. Balconies were added to 98 existing cabins on decks 5 (Main), 6 (Upper), and 7 (Empress), increasing the ship's passenger capacity from 2052 (max 2606) to 2128 (max 2554).

Below is a review of Carnival Paradise staterooms in terms of amenities, furnishings, and complimentary services:

Carnival Paradise Suites (Grand Vista, Grand, Junior) include 1 King bed (convertible to twins), a double sofabed (Grand), and a single sofabed (Junior), living area (walk-in closet, drawers, vanity table, chair), private bathroom (WC, shower, whirlpool bathtub, double sinks), and a private balcony (table and patio chairs). Category OB-Junior Suites have obstructed views.

The two Grand Vista Suites (GV category/forward on Deck 14) feature walk-in closets, floor-to-ceiling windows with bow views, and step-out balconies furnished with low tables and patio chairs. Category ES refers to Grand Suites with Extended Balconies, typically located aft and featuring larger verandas.

Both Scenic Oceanview cabins (forward on Deck 14) offer floor-to-ceiling slanted windows with bow views. Standard Oceanviews come with a large picture window, twin beds (convertible to queen), bathroom with shower, and a living area. Some feature bunk beds (Pullman) for third/fourth guests.

Interior cabins with windows (category PT) have one Porthole Window, twin beds (convertible to queen), a bathroom with shower, and a living area with a vanity and seating. Small Inside cabins are equipped with upper/lower bunk beds (Pullman), a vanity and chair, and a bathroom with shower.

All Carnival Paradise staterooms come with standard complimentary amenities including a living area (vanity and seating), smart HDTV (infotainment system with internet, on-demand movies, bookings, and room service), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, en-suite bathroom (WC, shower, single-sink vanity, bathrobes, amenity basket replenished upon request), custom-made beds (Carnival Comfort Bed System), beach towels, mini-bar/fridge, individual air-conditioning, and 24-hour complimentary room service. Gideon Bibles are available upon request.

The Carnival Sail & Sign card (cashless onboard credit account) also serves as a stateroom key. It enables onboard purchases and tipping directly through a personal account. The card must be used for all monetary transactions, with cash only accepted in the casino. Cards are issued to all guests (including minors) upon embarkation. Account balances can be checked at the Guest Services desk or via the smart TV in the stateroom.

TV programming in staterooms is subject to satellite reception and includes channels such as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNN (Domestic, International, Español), TCM (classic movies), Boomerang, Cartoon Network, TNT, and TBS. Two complimentary movie channels run films every three hours starting at noon—one for PG-13 favorites and the other for family-rated (G/PG) favorites. Carnival-exclusive channels include Fun Finds TV, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live cam views, Audible Funtimes, Photo, and Music. ESPN and ESPN 2 are available only on large screens at the ship’s Sports Bar and Seaside Theatre. TV input ports are disabled and cannot be used with personal devices.

Bathroom amenities vary and may include items like toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razor, and antacids. Showers are equipped with wall-mounted dispensers for liquid soap and shampoo. Power outlets are located at the desk/vanity area—one 110V (US standard) and one 220V (European). The bathroom outlet supports only electric razors.

Carnival beds are custom-made in Europe and include trademarked New Generation Pillows (100% cotton), hypoallergenic duvets, deluxe satin-striped sheets and pillowcases, and 8-inch (20 cm) spring mattresses (Carnival Comfort). Non-allergenic bedding is also available, including polyester blankets and 60/40 cotton-polyester linens. Trundle beds do not feature Carnival Comfort mattresses.

Carnival-logoed beach towels are provided in each cabin and may be taken ashore. They are also available for purchase at $22. Suites include two bathrobes. Additional robes can be requested. For all other cabins, bathrobes are available upon request during the first evening's turndown service. Robes can also be purchased—$49 for adults and $24 for children (ages 2-4 and 6-8).

Lifejackets, intended only for emergencies, are stored in the closet. Available in adult, child, and infant sizes. Cabin safes are also in the closet, measuring approx. 10x9x8 inches (25x23x20 cm) and can be accessed using any magnetic stripe card. It is recommended to use an expired card rather than a valid credit card. Some safes have keypads. Ship security can access all safes if needed.

Mini-bars are stocked with premium liquors ($6–$9.25), beer ($6.25), energy drinks ($5), soft drinks ($2), and bottled water ($3.75). In-cabin babysitting is not available. Cribs are provided complimentary upon request. High chairs and booster seats are available in the Main Dining Rooms.

Smoking is prohibited in all staterooms and on balconies. Designated smoking areas onboard include Rex Nightclub (not on the dance floor), Casino (designated sections), and Casino Bar. Outdoor smoking (including cigars and pipes) is permitted only on the starboard side of Deck 10 (main pool area).

Funville@Sea is a complimentary intranet service offering onboard activity schedules, restaurant and bar menus, deck maps, Fun Times newspaper, FunAshore tour guides, cruise news, itinerary weather, and onboard social networking (passenger messaging/tracking). Accessible through the infotainment system in cabins and at FunHub stations throughout the ship.

Current gratuity rates on Carnival Paradise are USD 12.95 per person per day for standard cabins and USD 13.95 for suites. Suite perks include priority embarkation, debarkation, and tendering, priority dining room reservations, complimentary bottled water, one complimentary laundry bag per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.

Since 2017, Carnival offers personalized steward service options: guests can choose morning, evening, or twice-daily servicing. Additional amenities such as extra pillows, bathrobes, blankets, and hangers can be requested. Preferences are selected via a service menu card in each stateroom. If no preference is indicated, service defaults to twice daily.

For detailed cabin furniture and layout information, refer to the Carnival Paradise cabin plans above.
