Each of the handicapped staterooms features: larger size (compared to the non-accessible counterpart), wider doors (width 35 inches / 0,9 m, sitting-level keycard slot), wider turning spaces (5 ft / 1,5 m), ramped thresholds, beds with open bed frames, lowered vanity in the sitting area, amplified phones, captioned TVs, wider bathrooms (door width 35 inches / 0,9 m, roll-in shower, fold-down shower bench, grab rails, lower sinks and closet rods, raised toilets, hand-held shower head, seat height from the floor 0,4 m).

All ADA cabins also feature a convenient location near the elevators.

The ship's gangways are all wide enough for most types of wheelchairs and disability scooters.

All decks provide elevator access.

All passenger lifts have visual, audio and Braille deck indicators.

During an emergency, dedicated crew personnel helps all disabled guests (also those with reduced mobility) to board the ship's lifeboats.

MSC Opera cabins review

Of all MSC Opera cabins (1,071 total), 232 have step-out balconies (204 Balcony cabins plus 28 Suites). The ship offers 8 cabin categories. MSC Opera has only 5 wheelchair-accessible cabins (Inside, categories I1-I2).

Follows the review of MSC Opera staterooms as amenities, furniture, and included (complimentary) services:

All MSC Opera cabins feature twin beds (convertible to a king-size double bed; some with sofabeds for a 3rd/4th guest), premium bedding, pillow menu, bedside tables, smart HDTV (infotainment system with Internet access, on-demand movies, bookings/reservations, room-service ordering), direct-dial phone (onboard calls only), electronic safe box and lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, mini-bar/fridge, wardrobe, sitting/lounge area with mirrored vanity table/desk and chair, en-suite bathroom (WC, single-sink vanity, shower), individually controlled air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi Internet.

Each MSC Opera Suite includes a double bed, ample wardrobe space, an en-suite bathroom (glass-door shower and bathtub), and a sitting/lounge area with a sofa bed. All Balcony cabins (including Suites) have sliding floor-to-ceiling doors opening onto a private veranda furnished with a round table and two chairs.

MSC “BELLA” cabins are categories I1-Inside, O1-Oceanview, and B1-Balcony.

MSC “FANTASTICA” cabins are categories I2-Inside, O2-Oceanview, and B2-Balcony. “Fantastica” accommodations additionally offer 24-hour room service, 50% discount on MSC fitness classes, special kids’ activities, free in-room breakfast dining, and priority dinner seating.

MSC “AUREA” cabins are category B3-Balcony. In addition to all “Fantastica” amenities, they also include a complimentary Aurea Spa package, unlimited Thermal Area access, a 60-min massage per person (max 2 per cabin), a 20-min Solarium session, welcome cocktail party, priority services (check-in, embarkation, tendering), bathrobes, slippers, premium spa products, and 24-hour unlimited drinks (specialty coffee, wine and beer, cocktails, soft beverages, gelato ice cream).
