All Scenic Ruby cabins have a maximum capacity of 2 guests per cabin. With the exception of the lower (Jewel Deck 1) cabins (located at water level), all other staterooms (87%) are balcony cabins. They are advertised by Scenic Tours as “Suite” accommodations with “Sun Lounges”. Each of these has a private (step-out) balcony for all-weather use. The number of cabin categories is 12.
Follows a review of Scenic Ruby staterooms, including furniture, price-included amenities, and complimentary services:
- All Scenic Ruby rooms have queen-size beds (some convertible to twin beds) with deluxe Egyptian cotton bedding sets (sheets and duvets; the Single Suite has a single bed), bedside tables, and a private luxury en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower cubicle, lighted mirror, color lighting system, luxury bath products such as shampoo, liquid soap, conditioner, and body lotion). Additional features include sliding-door closets (hangers, drawers, shelves), flat-screen HDTV (with “View From the Bridge” real-time webcam views), desk (jutting countertop, bookcase, white leather stool), safe, mini-bar (complimentary and restocked daily with soda, juice, sparkling water, liqueur, snacks), iPod station (with clock), hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, umbrella, individual climate control, and 220V power outlets (European and Australian sockets; American passengers need adapters).
- Moselle Deck rooms have fixed, non-opening picture windows located high on the riverside wall.
- All Suites feature floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private, full-size outdoor veranda (furnished with black-and-white wicker chairs). This innovative balcony design is also known as the “Sun Lounge”. It is a glass-enclosed sitting area (part of the cabin) located behind floor-to-ceiling windows that can open. Behind the window are sheers and blackout curtains. This sun lounge area can easily transform into an outdoor veranda at the push of a button.
- Suite bathrooms feature large, glass-enclosed showers with doors.
- Junior Suites have bathtubs and an expanded vanity sink area with mirrored cabinets.
- Royal Panorama Suites are the largest, featuring aft-wall windows, a sun lounge, sitting area (couch), and a large bathroom (shower only, no bathtub).
- Royal Suites have a larger sitting area and long bathrooms (ample cabinet space, bathtub, and a small shower).
- The only single cabin on Scenic Ruby is the Single Suite, sized as a half balcony suite, with a full-size closet, balcony, and bathroom.
- The only wheelchair-accessible cabin is located on Diamond Deck 3 and is identical to the Junior Suite (larger entry door, modified shower, fold-down seat, grab bar, no bathtub).
