Viking Ingvi (built in 2014) is one of Viking's longships. The riverboat is named after Ingvi from Norse mythology, a son of Odin and an ancestor-god of Norwegian kings. The name “Ingvi” in Old Norse means “lord.” As he is often associated with the god Freyr (linked to sacred kingship and considered an ancestor of Swedish kings), many believe that Ingvi and Freyr (Yngve-Freyr) are the same deity, with Ingvi being a title rather than a separate figure. In this sense, the “Viking Ingvi” can be interpreted as the “Viking Lord.”
Viking Ingvi’s deck plan includes a total of 95 staterooms accommodating 190 passengers, served by 50 crew and staff. She has 4 passenger decks and 1 glass elevator (connecting the Main and Upper decks only). The Viking longship Ingvi has no gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa. Guests may use health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along her itinerary route.
