Princess Cruises’ Discovery Princess, the newest vessel of the Royal Class, made her inaugural call at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore on October 28th, 2025. The visit marked the start of a 5-day voyage calling at Port Klang, Penang, and Langkawi before returning to Singapore on November 2nd.
Launched in March 2022, Discovery Princess accommodates up to 3,660 guests and more than 1,300 crew members. The ship features over 1,800 staterooms, including more than 1,400 balcony cabins. The vessel’s Sky Suites—equipped with 270-degree panoramic balconies—represent the largest such accommodations in the Princess fleet.
This Southeast Asian sailing is the ship’s sole regional voyage before repositioning to Australia, where she will begin her first homeporting season in Sydney from December 6th, 2025 to April 7th, 2026. The deployment will include more than twenty itineraries across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, coinciding with Princess Cruises’ 50th anniversary of operations from Australia.
A customary plaque-exchange ceremony took place onboard to commemorate the maiden call, attended by Captain Tony Ruggero and representatives from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, Singapore Tourism Board, and Wallem Shipping. The occasion also included ship tours and a hosted luncheon for over fifty Singapore-based travel advisors.
Further familiarisation visits are scheduled at Port Klang and Penang, where additional travel advisors will be welcomed aboard. Local port and tourism authorities will also participate in plaque exchanges during those calls.
Following Discovery Princess, Diamond Princess is scheduled to return to Singapore to commence her homeporting season from December 6th, 2025 through February 2026, with regional sailings to Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia. Crown Princess will also make her maiden visit to Singapore toward the end of November 2025, continuing the line’s growing presence in Southeast Asia.
