Luftner's AMADEUS River Cruises revealed its European 2027 river cruise schedule. The comprehensive program features a new 5-star vessel and an array of new land excursions.
The company reported that its roster will encompass 20+ different itineraries visiting destinations in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania. The travel brand will present a selection of shore activities tailored to varied interests, ranging from cultural highlights and culinary exploration to guided active pursuits.
Among the cultural experiences added to the program are opportunities to visit landmarks such as the Triberg Waterfalls amid Germany’s Black Forest, the medieval streets of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a full-day tour of Brussels that takes in the Atomium and parkland, and a themed exploration of Nuremberg reflecting the legacy of the artist Albrecht Dürer. Culinary-focused activities will lead travellers to sample regional specialities, with tastings of apple-based wines and spirits in Normandy, insights into Cologne’s beer traditions and a Riesling session in the cellars of Eberbach Abbey, illustrating the expanded emphasis on local food and drink.
For those inclined toward more active engagement with the landscapes, the 2027 program offers an extended suite of guided cycling tours through the Camargue and North Holland, relaxed e-bike routes along the Danube in the Wachau and Klosterneuburg regions, and scenic hikes such as the Philosopher’s Walk in Heidelberg, the Seine to Côte Sainte-Catherine in Rouen and excursions into Bulgaria’s Rusenski Lom Nature Park.
In spring 2027, the fleet will join the 158-passenger riverboat AMADEUS Mira. The ship has 12 suites with step-out balconies and 67 staterooms with panoramic windows. Passenger accommodations and public spaces include the Panorama Restaurant, a Sun Deck complete with an outdoor pool and Lido Bar, a modern fitness room and a River Terrace for alfresco scenic viewing. The hybrid propulsion and heat recovery systems reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
AMADEUS Mira will be deployed on a variety of Rhine and Danube routes in 2027, including seasonal (spring-time) tulip cruises departing from Amsterdam, scenic passages between Trier and Passau, journeys to the Danube Delta and an extended 15-day voyage from Amsterdam to Budapest.
