Marella Cruises has revealed part of the onboard entertainment program planned to mark the company’s 30th anniversary, with a series of special sailings across its 5-ship fleet beginning on May 1st.

The anniversary voyages will feature a range of live performances and guest appearances by musicians, television personalities and public figures. Among those scheduled to appear are Pixie Lott and Lemar, alongside performances and events involving Fleur East, Boyzlife and La Voix. The program will also include live question-and-answer sessions with guests such as Michael Edwards, Anthea Turner and broadcaster Michaela Strachan.

Singer-songwriter Pixie Lott is scheduled to perform aboard Marella Discovery during the ship’s anniversary sailing, while Lemar is set to appear on Marella Explorer 2, where Michaela Strachan will also participate in onboard programming. Strachan will additionally host a Q&A session aboard Marella Voyager.

On Marella Discovery 2, departing from Palma, Fleur East will perform while Michael Edwards will take part in a guest interview session. Another sailing from Palma aboard Marella Explorer will feature Boyzlife performing a selection of songs associated with the groups Boyzone and Westlife, together with an additional Q&A session with Edwards. Meanwhile, Marella Voyager will host a headline performance by La Voix, and Marella Discovery, sailing from Limassol, will feature Anthea Turner discussing her television career during a guest appearance.

Additional headline performers for the anniversary voyages aboard Marella Explorer 2 and Marella Discovery are expected to be announced at a later stage.

Each of the 7-night sailings will incorporate themed events linked to the company’s founding year of 1996. Planned activities include a birthday gala, “Party Like It’s 1996” celebrations, quayside events in selected ports and themed trivia sessions focused on the music and culture of the 1990s.

Chief executive Chris Hackney indicated that the anniversary program was intended to mark three decades of the brand’s presence in the United Kingdom cruise market. He noted that the company had assembled a lineup of well-known British performers for both returning and first-time guests, while the celebrations were designed to evoke the atmosphere of the mid-1990s through music, themed entertainment and interactive events.

Pixie Lott also commented on her participation, noting that she looked forward to performing during the anniversary celebrations and contributing to the onboard festivities planned for passengers sailing during the commemorative voyages.
