Royal Caribbean Ship Rescues Men Adrift at Sea

A Martinique boat was recovered this week after spending 23 days adrift.

The boat was recovered on Monday, June 12, by the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Adventure of the Seas which sighted the fishing boat “Loyalty” 800 km off the coast of St Lucia.

According to the French news website 1ere there were two people onboard the vessel when it was rescued; Martiniquan and St Lucian. A 3rd Martinique national threw himself into the sea after experiencing hallucinations.

The rescued men arrived in Curacao on Tuesday, June 13.

The boat was heading to St Lucia from Martinique, but experienced engine failure about 49 km off the coast of Saint Lucia.
