Cruise Lines Rebound with the Caribbean

The cruise industry is rebounding from the hurricanes which left a trail of devastation in the Caribbean. Major cruise lines have been able to restart operations while also continuing humanitarian efforts.

Ports like St Kitts and Antiqua are already receiving cruise ships. However, in other places, lines were forced to announce substitutions.

NCL (Norwegian Cruise Line) and MSC, for example, will be temporarily sending some of their vessels to Mexico and Western Caribbean while the ports in Eastern Caribbean recover.

Others, including Princess, RCI-Royal Caribbean and HAL-Holland America, have reworked Eastern Caribbean itineraries via using undamaged nearby cruise ports.

Among the biggest, currently unavailable cruise ports, are San Juan, St Maarten, St Thomas USVI, Tortola BVI and Dominica, while other destinations such as Grand Turk are still recovering.
