St Maarten had its busiest cruise day of the year on Wednesday, December 26, Port St Maarten announced.
Just in time for Boxing Day, the unique destination welcomed 7 cruise ships. Six were moored at the 2 cruise piers at Dr AC Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facility, one was at anchor in port's Great Bay.
That meant around 9,900 crew and 26,900 passengers, or a total of 36,800 visitors.
The seven liners included Celebrity Silhouette, the newbuild Celebrity Edge (2018), Harmony of the Seas, Adventure of the Seas, P&O Britannia, MSC Seaside, and Marella Explorer.
It was the 2nd visit to St Maarten for Celebrity Edge, which made her inaugural cruise to the island last week.
