DCL-Disney Cruise Line announced it will offer in summer 2022 new destinations and ports of call in the regions of Mediterranean, Aegean (Greek Isles), Baltic Europe, Alaska, Caribbean.
First-ever summer departures from Miami Florida visit Castaway Cay (DCL’s private island in The Bahamas).
Bookings open to the general public on March 25.
European itineraries (Greek Isles, Mediterranean, Baltic, Norwegian Fjords, British Isles, Iceland) are part of a new program scheduled for summer 2022 for MS Disney Magic. DCL has planned 5 maiden ports in Europe - Leixoes-Oporto Portugal, Chania Crete, Riga Latvia, Maloy Norway, Nynashamn Sweden.
From homeport Civitavecchia-Rome, the ship offers 8-9-12-night roundtrips to Piraeus-Athens and the Greek islands Santorini and Mykonos. A 9-night sailing marks Disney’s first call to Port Chania (Crete Island). Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona visit popular ports like Naples and Rome, plus French Riviera's coastal towns Cannes and Villefranche.
During the 7-night relocation voyage (RepositionCruises.com) from Barcelona to Dover, Disney Magic makes a maiden visit to Oporto via Port Leixoes.
In Alaska. MS Disney Wonder ship's 2022 summer season is based on homeporting in Vancouver, BC Canada, and 7-night roundtrips to Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Dawes Glacier. Two Alaskan cruises visit Icy Strait Point instead of Skagway. Each itinerary offers shore excursions in all ports via DCL's Port Adventures tour programming.
DCL's first-ever cruises from Miami planned for summer 2022 visit Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). On June 7, 2022, is the first departure scheduled for MS Disney Dream (inaugural voyage from Miami). The liner has previously only been homeported in Port Canaveral, Orlando, Florida. In to Castaway Cay, 3- and 4-night Miami roundtrips visit Nassau, while 5-night itineraries include either Cozumel Mexico or Grand Cayman Island. A special 5-night roundtrip features 2 stops at Castaway Cay and a visit to Nassau.
From homeport Port Canaveral, MS Disney Fantasy cruises visit Castaway Cay. The boat's itineraries throughout 2022 summer are to ports in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, including 7-night, a special 5-night, an extended 9-night. The 9-night voyage for the first time visits Roseau Dominica.
The newbuild MS Disney Wish is scheduled to start the Inaugural Cruise also in summer 2022. Itineraries will be released at a later date. Disney Wish is expected to showcase immersive family entertainment, storytelling, and a high level of service. The LNG-powered (by liquified natural gas) vessel has GT tonnage 144,000 tons, 1250 passenger staterooms, and is slightly bigger than the sisterships Dream and Fantasy.
Package deals via DCL's "Adventures by Disney" in summer 2022 offer extending the European voyages with a "pre-cruise escape" in select port cities (Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Civitavecchia-Rome. The 2- to 3-night packages feature private, after-hours visits to Rome City's Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Activities like mosaic making, preparing locally inspired cuisine, and flamenco dancing, immerse families in the culture of the region visited.
