Bouchemaine is a commune located in the department of Maine-et-Loire, western France, 7 km (4.3 miles) from the department capital Angers and 271 km (168 miles) from Paris. The total area of Bouchemaine is 19.81 km2 (7.65 ml2). According to 2009 census, it had a population of 6000 inhabitants.
