Cu Lao Gieng Island is in the Mekong Delta (in the middle of Tien River, between Chau Doc and Sa Dec) in Vietnam's Dong Thap Province.

The island is best-known for its historical attractions, ancient Vietnamese architecture, lush trees, Roman Catholic Church (late-19th-century), Thanh Hoa Tu Temple (aka Dao Nam / 1953-built)., Phuoc Thanh (Buddhist pagoda), Providence Sisters (monastery).

As cruisetour port destination, Gieng Island was included in UNIWORLD's 10-day itinerary between My Tho and Siem Reap, operated by the ship Mekong Navigator (2014).
