Durnstein (port locode ATDUE) is a Danube River cruise port and town in Austria, located in the Krems-Land district (Lower Austria). This small town is named after the Burgruine Durnstein castle and has a population of around 1,000.

Durnstein is the alternative cruise port for Krems (~8 km/5 mi to the east), making it among the Wachau region's most visited river travel destinations.

Among the land excursions offered from Durnstein is visiting a vineyard in Krems for sampling locally-made white wines (including award-winning Riesling wines). Krems is also a well-known producer of the apricot brandy Marillenschnaps. Krems city touring offers mostly medieval architecture.
