Port Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth Harbour is a deepwater seaport on North Sea, built in the period 2007-2009. The port provides the shortest North Sea crossings between UK and Europe. In 2009 were installed 2 gantry cranes (later removed) with planned construction of a containership terminal. In 2018 were announced plans for a ferry link to IJmuiden to be served by Seamax Ferries. Since 2015, the seaport is managed by Peel Ports Great Yarmouth. The port mainly serves the oil and gas fields in the southern North Sea, as well as offshore wind farm projects (off UK's East Coast).

Port Great Yarmouth has all 7 quays and terminals:

  • Outer Harbour NT1, NT2, WT3, WT4 and WT5 are quays serving vessels with max LOA length 200 m and max draft 10 m.
  • River Terminal is a dock serving vessels with max LOA length 120 m and max draft 6 m.
  • Great Yarmouth Fendercare Marine is a Jetty serving vessels with max LOA length 50 m and max draft 3 m (10 ft).

They were welcomed by live Great Yarmouth Brass performance quay-side. The top-luxury liner was on 45-day "Northern Summer Skies" cruise itinerary (May 17 - July 1) roundtrip from Dover England.

In mid-February 2019, Port Great Yarmouth received a new gantry crane to support Outer Harbour's cargo lifting operations. The Liebherr-made crane (model LHM280) has lifting capacity 84 tons.
