On November 5, 2020, at Port Szczecin was successfully conducted its first LNG bunkering of a ship (fueling the docked vessel with liquefied natural gas). The LNG bunkering was conducted by PGNiG Obrot Detaliczny (Poland's largest gas and oil company/part of the holding PGNiG SA) and LOTOS Asfalt (specializing in crude oil production, refining and oil products marketing/part of the holding Grupa LOTOS SA).

In 2022 started the dredging (deepening and widening) of the Debicki Canal (from 120 to 200 m / 395-655 ft, max depth 12,5 m/40 ft), the extension of the Finnish Quay (container terminal), and the modernization of the Czech Quay and Słowackie Quay. The new Danish Quay (length 770 m / 2526 ft) acts as a protection for Grabowski Island and allowed the future extension of the Norwegian Quay. For this major port development project (scheduled for completion in 2023-Q2) was contracted NDI Group SA (Danmark).
