Avalon Alegria cabins review

Of the 51 total cabins on Avalon Alegria, 37 are Panorama Suites (French Balcony staterooms), while the remaining 14 are Deluxe Staterooms. All passenger cabins are located outside and offer unobstructed views.

Each French Balcony stateroom features two floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening onto a Juliet balcony (also known as a "balconette" or "false balcony").

There are five cabin categories available, with a maximum capacity of two guests per cabin.

Avalon Waterways does not offer handicap-accessible (wheelchair-friendly) cabins for disabled passengers on any of its riverboats.

Trademarked as "Panorama Suites," the French Balcony cabins span two full decks—Sapphire and Royal Decks (2nd and 3rd floors). These accommodations feature Avalon Waterways' registered "Open-Air Balcony," which includes wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling sliding windows (14 ft / 4 m wide) that open to a balconette. This design creates the feeling that the entire room is a balcony, and the “indoor balcony” feels like an extension of the room itself.

The most affordable cabins are located on the Indigo Deck (1st floor). These rooms feature two fixed (non-opening) windows positioned near the ceiling.

Below is a review of Avalon Alegria's stateroom furnishings, included amenities, and complimentary services:

Hotel-style "Comfort Collection" twin beds (convertible to a queen, 200 x 160 cm) with ample under-bed storage, luxury bedding, Egyptian cotton linens, a pillow menu, and memory foam mattress toppers. Additional amenities include duvets and extra blankets, bathrobes, slippers, a three-door closet with shelves, bedside tables with lamps, individual climate control, 220V outlets (2-pin plugs), and soundproof walls.

All staterooms feature a spacious bathroom equipped with a toilet, sink with marble countertop, large mirror, glass-door shower, granite tiles, premium fixtures, L'Occitane bath amenities, and a hairdryer. Other in-room amenities include an HD flat-screen TV (with satellite reception, movie channels, and webcam views), mini-bar/fridge, writing desk/vanity with armchair, direct-dial phone, alarm clock, safe, and complimentary bottled water (replenished daily).

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available shipwide. Internet access for browsing and streaming incurs an additional charge.

Included services feature complimentary laundry, nightly turndown service, and beverages (regional wines, beers, and soft drinks served with lunch and dinner). Guests can also enjoy in-room continental breakfast and drink service.

Avalon Waterways also offers complimentary excursions, including themed "food and wine" tours, cultural and historical guided experiences, and leisure activities such as sightseeing and walking tours, all led by local certified guides.
