Avalon Illumination cabins and suites

Most Avalon Illumination cabins (80%) feature a French Balcony. Each of these staterooms includes two floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a “Juliet” (balconet, also known as a "false balcony"). There are a total of six cabin categories, each accommodating a maximum of two guests. Avalon Waterways does not offer handicap-accessible (wheelchair-friendly) cabins for disabled passengers on any of its riverboats.

Marketed as “Panorama Suites,” the French Balcony cabins span two full decks. These accommodations include Avalon Waterways’ trademarked “Open-Air Balcony” concept. Each room features the industry’s first wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling sliding windows (14 ft / 4 m wide) that open to a balconet. This design makes the entire stateroom feel like a balcony, while the “indoor balcony” becomes an extension of the room itself.

The most affordable cabins are located on Deck 1. These feature two fixed (non-opening) windows positioned near the ceiling.

Below is an overview of Avalon Illumination’s staterooms, including furniture, included amenities, and complimentary services:

Hotel-style beds (“Comfort Collection” twin beds convertible to queen-size, 200 x 160 cm), ample under-bed storage, luxury bedding sets with Egyptian cotton linens, pillow menu, memory foam mattress toppers, duvets, extra blankets, bathrobes, slippers, 3-door closets with shelving, bedside tables with lamps, individual climate control, 220V power outlets (2-pin plugs), and soundproof partition walls.

Each stateroom features a spacious bathroom with a WC, sink with marble countertop, large mirror, glass-door shower, granite tile floors, premium fixtures, L’Occitane bath amenities, and a hairdryer. Additional in-room features include an HD flat-screen TV (with satellite channels, movie selections, and bow webcam views), a mini-bar/fridge, writing desk or vanity with an armchair, direct dial phone, alarm clock, safe, and complimentary bottled water replenished daily.

Royal and Panorama Suites also include a seating area for six guests, furnished with a sofa, coffee table, armchairs, and a makeup mirror. All Suites offer French Balcony views.

Complimentary services include shipwide Wi-Fi (Internet access available at an additional cost), laundry, nightly turndown service, and beverages (regional wines, beers, and soft drinks served at dinner). Continental breakfast and beverages may be delivered via room service.

Included Avalon Waterways excursions feature food and wine tastings, culture and history-themed guided tours, and leisure activities such as sightseeing and walking tours, all conducted by certified local guides.
