Avalon Poetry II cabins review
Most Avalon Poetry II cabins (78%) feature a French Balcony. Each of these staterooms includes two floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to a “Juliet” (balconet, also known as a "false balcony"). The ship offers six cabin categories, each accommodating a maximum of two guests. Avalon Waterways does not provide handicap-accessible (wheelchair-friendly) cabins on any of its riverboats.
Trademarked as “Panorama Suites,” the French Balcony cabins span two full decks. Each suite also features Avalon Waterways’ exclusive “Open-Air Balcony”—a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling sliding window (14 ft / 4 m wide) that opens to a balconet. This design creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor space, making the entire room feel like a balcony and the "indoor balcony" feel like part of the room.
The most affordable cabins are located on Deck 1. These have two fixed (non-opening) windows positioned near the ceiling.
