Carnival Legend cabins review
The Carnival cruise ship Legend has a total of 17 wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) and no Spa cabins (with exclusive access to Spa Carnival facilities). There are 28 different cabin categories available.
Connecting rooms ("family cabins") are located on decks 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The list of connecting cabin categories includes: 2-bed cabins (VS, 4B, 4C, 4D, 7A), 2-3 bed cabins (8A, 8D, 8E, 8M), and 2-3-4 bed cabins (8B, 8C, 8K, 8F, 8J). The 17 handicap-accessible staterooms are distributed as follows: GS-Grand Suite (1), Balcony (8), Oceanview (4), and Interior (4).
Below is a review of Carnival Legend staterooms, including amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:
Carnival Legend Suites (Grand, Vista, Ocean, Junior) include 2 twin beds (convertible to a king), a dressing area (walk-in closet, vanity table, chair), and a private bathroom (toilet, shower, whirlpool bathtub, bidet, double sinks). Some GS-OS suites also have a single/double sofa bed and/or an upper bed for a third or fourth guest. Vista Suites, all located aft, feature larger wrap-around balconies. Suite perks include: priority embarkation, debarkation, and tendering at all ports; priority main dining room reservations; complimentary bottled water; a complimentary bag of laundry (one per cruise); and enhanced turndown service.
All balcony staterooms feature private balconies with sliding glass doors, a table, patio chairs, sun loungers, and a railing with a clear glass panel. Premium Vista Balcony cabins, located at the ship's aft corners, offer suite-level amenities, including a wrap-around balcony. Extended Balcony cabins are available in four categories – 8N, 8M, 8K, and 8J – and feature balconies 50% larger than standard, three closets, and a full bathroom with a shower. Some 8N-8M rooms include a sofa bed for a third guest, while some 8K-8J rooms feature a sofa and/or bunk (upper) bed for third or fourth guests.
Oceanview cabins include a large picture window, two twin beds (convertible to a queen), and may have a sofa and/or upper (Pullman) bed for additional guests. Inside cabins with windows are category 4K, offering a partially obstructed view and featuring sliding French doors. Some of these rooms also include a sofa and/or upper (Pullman) bed. Certain standard Interior cabins come equipped with an upper bunk bed for a third guest.
All Carnival Legend staterooms include standard complimentary amenities such as a living area (vanity, seating), smart HDTV (infotainment system with Internet access, on-demand movies, reservations, and room service ordering), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, single-sink vanity, bathrobes, amenity basket replenished upon request), Carnival Comfort Bed System (custom-made beds), beach towels, mini-bar/fridge, individual air-conditioning, and 24-hour complimentary room service. Bibles (Gideon version) are available upon request.
Bathroom amenities vary and may include items like toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razors, and antacids. Showers are equipped with wall-mounted dispensers for liquid soap and shampoo. Power outlets are located in the desk/vanity area, with one 110V (USA) and one 220V (European) outlet. The bathroom’s 2-pin plug is for electric razors only.
The Carnival Sail & Sign card functions as both a stateroom key and a cashless onboard credit account. All purchases and gratuities are charged to this account, which is assigned to each guest (including minors) upon boarding. Cash is accepted only in the casino. Guests can check their balance at the Guest Services desk or via the in-cabin smart TV.
The ship's interactive TV system allows guests to order movies on demand, room service, and check their Sail & Sign account. Movies cost approximately USD 5 (regular) or USD 10 (adult content). Complimentary TV channels include ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNN (Domestic, International, Español), TCM, Boomerang, Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, and two movie channels showing PG-13 and G/PG-rated films. Carnival-themed channels include Fun Finds TV, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live webcams, Audible Funtimes, Photo, and Music. ESPN channels are only available in the ship's Sports Bar and Seaside Theatre. All TV connection ports are disabled, preventing the use of personal devices.
The Carnival Comfort Beds are manufactured in Europe exclusively for Carnival and include custom "New Generation" cotton pillows, hypoallergenic satin-striped duvets, high-quality cotton sheets, satin-striped pillowcases, and 8-inch spring mattresses. Non-allergenic bedding options are available, including polyester blankets and cotton-polyester sheets. Trundle beds do not use Carnival Comfort mattresses.
Carnival-branded beach towels are provided in all staterooms for use ashore and are available for purchase at $22. Bathrobes are included in all suites, and additional ones are available upon request. For other staterooms, bathrobes are offered during the first evening turndown service upon request. Bathrobes can be purchased at $49 (adult size) and $24 (children sizes 2-4 and 6-8 years old).
Lifejackets are for emergency use only and are not permitted in pools. They are available in three sizes (adult, child, infant) and are located in cabin closets. Cabin safes measure approximately 10 x 9 x 8 inches (25 x 23 x 20 cm) and are accessible by any magnetic strip card. Guests are advised to use an expired or non-sensitive card. Some safes use a keypad. Safes can also be opened by ship security.
All in-room mini-bars are stocked with premium liquors ($6–9.25), beer ($6.25), energy drinks ($5), soft drinks ($2), and bottled water ($3.75). In-cabin babysitting is not available. Cribs are complimentary upon request, and high chairs and booster seats are available in the main dining rooms.
Smoking is not allowed in cabins or on balconies. Designated smoking areas aboard Carnival Miracle include Frankenstein’s Lab Nightclub (not on the dance floor), the Casino (designated areas), and the Casino Bar. Smoking (including cigars and pipes) is permitted in outdoor areas on Decks 3 (midship, starboard), 10 (forward, starboard), and 11 (forward, midship, aft, starboard).
Funville@Sea is a free intranet service that offers onboard activity schedules, bar and restaurant menus, deck plans, the Fun Times newspaper, tour guides, cruise news, weather reports, and an onboard social network for messaging and tracking other guests. This service is accessible through the infotainment system in staterooms and FunHub stations around the ship.
Current daily gratuities are USD 12.95 per person for standard cabins and USD 13.95 for suite guests. Suite perks include priority embarkation, debarkation, and tendering, main dining room reservations, complimentary bottled water, one bag of laundry per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.
Since 2017, Carnival offers guests the option to customize their steward service—choosing morning, evening, or twice-daily service. Guests may also request additional amenities such as bathrobes, extra pillows, blankets, and hangers, as well as specify linen change frequency. Preferences are selected via a service menu card provided in each stateroom. If no selection is made, default service is twice daily.
Details of all stateroom furniture can be viewed on the Carnival Legend cabin plans provided above.
