Celestyal Crystal (built 1980, formerly Louis Cristal, last refurbished in 2016) is one of the re-branded Louis Cruises / Celestyal Cruises. The company also owns the ships Celestyal Olympia /Louis OlympiaCelestyal Odyssey, Louis Aura and Thomson Spirit (chartered). As Louis Cristal, the liner was chartered by the "Cuba Cruise" line (Canada-based) and operated the first-ever Cuba cruises with 7-day Havana round-trip itineraries during 2013 winter season. Louis Cristal visited then all 5 Cuban ports plus Jamaica (stopping at Montego Bay).

Celestyal Crystal cruise ship deck plan has a total of 480 staterooms for 1200 passengers (max capacity is 1452 guests), served by 400 crew/staff. The ship has 9 passenger accessible decks, 3 restaurants, 6 lounges and bars, 1 swimming pool, 1 jacuzzi, 4 elevators.

Representing an earlier cruising age, the ship’s interior features wide corridors, solid cabin doors, many staterooms with large picture windows (with thick metal frames). Suite  balconies are triangular-shaped (cut from the vessel’s superstructure /not jutting out), polished mahogany banisters.

Celestyal Crystal deck plan changes 2015 refurbishment review

The list of deck plan changes after the 2015 drydock refurbishment (done in Piraeus-Athens, Greece) in November-December includes:

  • 26 new balconies were added to oceanview cruise staterooms located on deck 6. Another 17 new balconies were added to outside rooms on deck 7. All the 43 new balcony cabins are in the Junior Suite grade. Currently, besides the 43 new Junior Suites , the ship also has  8 Balcony Suites and 2 Imperial Balcony Suites. Each of the new cabin verandas extends 1,4 m (4,5 ft) from the ship’s bulkhead and has length between 2,8-5,8 m (9-19 ft).
  • The Owner’s Suites existing verandas were extended and refurbished.
  • Extensive renovations and redecoration were done to 21 of the Junior Suites, also to 9 higher-grade Suites and all 227 oceanview staterooms. All public areas were also renovated and upgraded.
  • Hotel amenities upgrades were also implemented, along with the vessel’s general maintenance.
