MS Silver Shadow (built 2000, last refurbished in 2019 November-December) is the third among the Silversea ships – preceded by Silver Cloud and Silver Wind, and followed by the sister ship Silver Whisper. Silversea Cruises Shadow and Whisper ships are designed as bigger versions of the line’s first two vessels. Like all Silversea ships, Shadow is operated with all-inclusive cruise deals and offers the highest level of luxury, services and amenities at sea.
Silver Shadow cruise ship deck plan has a total of 194 staterooms (all suites) for 388 passengers (max capacity is 466 guests), served by 295 crew/staff. The ship has 7 passenger decks, 3 restaurants, 7 lounges and bars, 1 pool, 2 jacuzzies, 5 elevators. Passenger use laundrettes (butler- and self-service laundry facilities) are located on decks 4, 6 and 8. Detergent is provided.
Silver Shadow is among the “top luxury" cruise choices on the premium market. The Silversea’s all-inclusiveness means that all the onboard drinks are complimentary (including wines, premium spirits, champagnes, also the in-room bar and fridge), even gratuities.
When booking your Silver Shadow cruise deals, it is advisable to make also dining reservations for the speciality restaurant(s) you wish to visit. Those are La Champagne (French /24 seats) and La Terrazza (Italian, in the evenings only /70 seats).
Silver Shadow deckplan changes 2019 refurbishment review
In 2019 (November 2 through December 2) the ship was drydocked in Port Valletta Malta (at Palumbo Malta Shipyard) for an extensive refurbishment. The USD 30 million drydocking project was part of Silversea's "Project Invictus" (fleet renovation program).
The works included general maintenance, upgrades to public areas, complete renovation of all staterooms, adding Atrium & Arts Cafe (replacing the old Lobby) and Connoisseur’s Club (the old cigar lounge was moved from Deck 7 to Deck 8 starboard with added an outdoor smoking-allowed area).
The vessel was previously drydocked in 2017.
