MS Silver Shadow (2000-built, last refurbished in November–December 2019) is the third vessel in the Silversea fleet, preceded by Silver Cloud and Silver Wind, and followed by the sistership Silver Whisper. Silversea’s Shadow and Whisper ships are designed as larger versions of the line’s first two vessels. Like all Silversea ships, Shadow operates with all-inclusive cruise fares and offers the highest level of luxury, service, and amenities at sea.
Silver Shadow cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 194 staterooms (all suites) for 388 passengers (maximum capacity 466), served by 295 crew and staff. The ship has 10 decks (8 passenger-accessible, 6 with cabins), 3 restaurants, 7 lounges and bars, 1 swimming pool, 2 Jacuzzis (outdoor whirlpool hot tubs), and 5 elevators.
Passenger laundrettes (butler- and self-service laundry facilities) are located on decks 4, 6, and 8. Detergent is provided.
Silver Shadow is among the top luxury cruise options in the premium market. Silversea’s all-inclusive fares include all onboard beverages (including wines, premium spirits, champagnes, and in-room mini-bar drinks), as well as gratuities.
When booking your Silver Shadow cruise, it is advisable to also make dining reservations for the specialty restaurants you wish to visit. These include La Champagne (French cuisine, 24 seats) and La Terrazza (Italian cuisine, evenings only, 70 seats).
Silver Shadow deckplan changes 2019 refurbishment review
In 2019 (November 2 through December 2), the ship entered drydock in Port Valletta Malta (at Palumbo Malta Shipyard) for an extensive refurbishment. The USD 30 million drydocking project was part of Silversea's “Project Invictus” fleet renovation program.
The works included general maintenance, upgrades to public areas, and a complete renovation of all staterooms. The Atrium Lobby (Deck 5 midship) was completely redesigned, and the Atrium Arts Cafe was added (replacing the former Lobby Bar). Connoisseur’s Club (the former cigar lounge) was relocated from Deck 7 to Deck 8 (aft-starboard, replacing the Library) and received an outdoor smoking terrace. The Casino was moved from Deck 5 (midship portside) to Deck 8 (aft-starboard, replacing the Internet Cafe), and its size was reduced. The Library was relocated from Deck 8 (aft-starboard) to Deck 10 forward (Observation Library Lounge). The Internet Cafe (Deck 8 aft-portside) was integrated into the Observation Lounge (Deck 10).
The vessel was previously drydocked in 2017.
