The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company reported its highest number of ferry passengers in 16 years for the year 2023, with 623000+ passengers and 196000+ vehicles transported. These figures mark the company's peak since 2007, coinciding with the TT's 100th anniversary.

A company spokesperson attributed this increase to a positive trend following the challenges posed by the COVID crisis. Passenger numbers for 2023 surged by 27000+ compared to the previous year, accompanied by a rise of 3500+ vehicles from 2022. The highest figures in recent history were recorded during the TT centenary year, with 632,942 passengers and 197745 vehicles transported.

Furthermore, 2023 saw the introduction of the Manxman, replacing the Ben my Chree, as well as ongoing enhancements to the fastcraft vessels, including improved amenities such as a better children's play area and expanded retail space to enhance the passenger experience, as stated by Managing Director Brian Thomson. The company expressed its determination to further increase passenger numbers.

Additionally, the construction of the Steam Packet's new ferry terminal in Liverpool is expected to be completed later this year.
