CCL-Carnival Cruise Line has revealed its homeport deployments for the 2027-2028 season, with new operations established in Long Beach/LA, California; Norfolk, Virginia; and Baltimore, Maryland.
Carnival Legend will be repositioned to Long Beach for a seasonal deployment running from October 2027 through April 2028. From LA, it will inaugurate CCL's first series of cruises to Hawaii, operating 14-day “Carnival Journeys” that visit Honolulu, Maui, Kauai, Hilo, and Kona, with an additional call at Ensenada, Baja Mexico. Ten Hawaiian sailings are already available for booking during that period. Alongside those, Legend will run 6- and 8-day Mexican Riviera itineraries, visiting Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Ensenada.
Simultaneously, Carnival Freedom will relocate from Port Canaveral to Norfolk in May 2027. Arriving in Norfolk on May 23rd, it will offer the most varied cruise program ever from Virginia. Itineraries include 6-day Bahamas and Bermuda, 8-day Eastern Caribbean (including calls at Amber Cove, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk), and 8-day Canada, calling at ports such as Halifax, Sydney, Saint John, or Charlottetown.
Meanwhile, Carnival Pride will continue year-round operations from Baltimore. The deployment will include 7-night sailings to The Bahamas (Nassau, Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays), 7-night to Bermuda, and longer “Carnival Journeys” itineraries (9, 12, and 14 nights) to Caribbean islands including Aruba, Curaçao, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, Antigua, Tortola BVI, and Martinique.
CCL has described these changes as strategic, aimed at providing more departure options for guests closer to their homes, while enhancing the diversity of itineraries available from each homeport.
