RCI-Royal Caribbean International has revised the itinerary of Liberty of the Seas in response to the projected path of Tropical Storm Jerry. The vessel, originally scheduled to depart Cape Liberty on October 11th, 2025 for a 5-night voyage to Bermuda, will instead sail northward to Canada, featuring an overnight stay in Saint John, New Brunswick.
The decision followed an internal review by the company’s Chief Meteorologist, Craig Seltzer, who has been monitoring a developing low-pressure system along the eastern seaboard in conjunction with the tropical storm’s movement. Company representatives indicated that the combined weather conditions rendered it impractical to ensure a safe and comfortable passage toward Bermuda. After assessing alternative routes, Royal Caribbean elected to modify the itinerary to avoid adverse weather and maintain operational safety.
Under the revised schedule, Liberty of the Seas will operate a roundtrip voyage from Cape Liberty, substituting the planned call at Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard (Kings Wharf) with calls along the Canadian coast. The line acknowledged the late change but emphasized that passenger safety and voyage stability remain its primary considerations.
At the same time, Tropical Storm Jerry continues to affect the Lesser Antilles and is forecast to track north toward Bermuda in the coming days, prompting adjustments across multiple itineraries. In a related operational update, Royal Caribbean notified guests aboard Symphony of the Seas that embarkation for its upcoming sailing from Cape Liberty on October 12th, 2025 has been advanced by two hours due to deteriorating weather near the New York area.
The Symphony of the Seas voyage remains set for a 7-night cruise to Florida and the Bahamas, with calls scheduled at Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau.
