Carnival Cruise Line/CCL has introduced a new fleetwide bow crest aboard Carnival Legend following the vessel’s return to service after a 16-day drydocking in Freeport.
The unveiling comes ahead of the Memorial Day holiday period and forms part of the company’s broader effort to reinforce its identity as “America’s Cruise Line.”
The newly applied “From Sea to Shining Sea” crest draws inspiration from the imagery of America the Beautiful, reflecting the coastlines, waterways and ports connected through CCL's American operations. The design is scheduled to appear gradually across the company's USA-based fleet during future drydocks and aboard new vessels entering service.
Carnival Jubilee (2023) and Carnival Tropicale (2028) will retain the Texas star insignia displayed on their bows.
Carnival Magic is expected to become the next ship fitted with the new crest when it returns to Miami following drydocking later this month.
CCL's president, Christine Duffy, indicated that the emblem was intended to reflect the company's extensive presence across the United States, highlighting the line’s coast-to-coast operations and its connection with millions of passengers each year through the destinations it serves and the voyages it operates.
To mark the occasion, CCL welcomed veterans from the Miami Veteran Affairs Healthcare System aboard to view the redesigned bow and receive America250 challenge commemorative coins in recognition of their service. CCL also noted its ongoing military appreciation gatherings, which are held on every North American sailing.
The introduction of the crest coincides with preparations for the upcoming America250 celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the USA. Between June 4th and July 4th, CCL plans to host a series of themed activities across the fleet, including patriotic events, trivia programs, crafts and gatherings timed to coincide with Independence Day fireworks displays on both coasts.
