First Steel Cut for New Regent Ship

The steel-cutting ceremony for Seven Seas Splendor took place at Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona on Wednesday, March 15.

Splendor is the 2nd ship Fincantieri is constructing for RSSC-Regent Seven Seas, a brand of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The delivery of the ship is scheduled for early 2020.

Jason Montague, Regent Seven Seas President & CEO, attended the ceremony, along with Franco Semeraro, senior vice president hotel operations. Also there was Robin Lindsay, executive vice president vessel operations for NCLH.

Seven Seas Explorer cruise ship

The 55,500 GT Splendor will be able to accommodate 754 passengers in a total of 375 suites. It is a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer, delivered by Fincantieri in Genoa (Sestri Ponente) June 2017.

The inaugural season for the all-balcony, all-suite Seven Seas Splendor goes on sale in spring 2018. In addition to Explorer, the fleet currently includes Seven Seas Mariner, Seven Seas Navigator and Seven Seas Voyager.
