Norwegian Cruise Line had to modify the itinerary of Pride of America to stay clear of Lane, the major hurricane which was forecast to track dangerously near Hawaii Islands between Thursday and Saturday, according to Central Pacific Hurricane Center.

Lane, a Category 4 hurricane, features maximum sustained winds close to 240 km/h (150 mph), with higher gusts. On Wednesday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. the Coast Guard (CG) set port condition Zulu (winds above 39mph expected within 12h) for Hawaii County port, as well as condition Yankee (winds above 39 mph within 24hs) for Kauai, LanaiMaui, Molokai and Oahu.

There are still no changes to the voyage due to depart from Honolulu the evening of August 25, according to the cruise line.
